Tara is a Myotherapist who completed her training in a Diploma of remedial massage and advanced Diploma of Myotherapy at the Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy, in addition to obtaining a Bachelor of Medical and Health Sciences from the University of Wollongong.
Tara has over 3 years experience within sports, working for professional soccer teams managing players’ musculoskeletal problems, injuries and maintenance throughout the seasons. Tara also worked at Endota day spa which equipped her to providing relaxation massage ideal for regulation of stress and balance. She was previously working within a private neurorehabilitation clinic and has extensive experience providing massage therapy for neurological conditions, aging and degenerative pain and conditions. Tara has a keen interest in the alleviation of pain and reduction of stress, focussing on personalising treatment goals and needs. Tara loves utilizing her extensive and varied experience and employs techniques such as myofascial release, deep tissue massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling and cupping coupled with a holistic approach to assessment and treatment to optimize her clients’ outcomes.
Tara’s personal time is spent actively as she also is involved playing soccer for Richmond Women’s team making the switch from netball to soccer only 3 years ago teaching her while treating soccer players the function and demands of the world game. Tara has participated in 2 half marathons although has reduced the long distance running in Melbourne’s cold weather and loves pilates, food and exploring Melbourne!
